Tigers at Ocean World, Yehliu near Taipei, Taiwan

Yehliu Ocean World (45 minutes North of Taipei by taxi) houses 24 tigers (I actually only counted 21 but there could have been more shut up in the back somewhere)  bred from a handful abandoned some years ago by a Circus.  Their conditions are wretched.  They deserve to be rescued. There is also a Sun Bear (apparently originally 6 sunbears). There are 6 permanent structures measuring about 5 x 4 x 5 metres - 2 tigers per cage, with an extra one in a tiny walled off area at the back of one of them. There are 8 dilapidated containers which house the rest.

There are 17 photos of the ocean world tigers on this and the subsequent pages. All high quality slow download.  Feel free to print them out, pass them on or whatever.   No copyright.
