HUNTING
Hunting is illegal in Hong Kong but still occurs in remote parts of the New Territories. Some licences are issued for the control of wild boar. But legal and illegal hunting is rapidly eradicating wild life from vast areas of China. There are many wealthy people from all round the world who will pay large sums of money for the sick fun of killing a wild animal. This kind of "tourism" is so lucrative that it is hard to stop it.
IT IS VERY WIDESPREAD IN MODERN CHINA.

Where culling of wild animals is absolutely necessary for ecological reasons it should be carried out in the most humane way possible. Ecology should not be allowed to be used as an excuse for man's greed or lust for killing. Generally, culling should be avoidable by good planning. Our children must not be taught that it is good to enjoy killing.
